20 buy-ins in 14days, boomswitch activated?

About 2 weeks ago, I had a minor downswing at $2/$4, nothing major, and well within my bankroll limits, however, I decided to step down a limit to freshen up my game, and generally build some confidence back. I think this is key, given there is such a fine line in poker between thinking you’re unstoppable, versus expecting to lose every single pot you play.

My poker coach and I decided to set a 20buy-in challenge, i.e. play at $1/$2 until I win 20buy-ins ($4k). That was 2 weeks ago, and im pleased to say, ive achieved my target. See the graph below.

I’m happy with how the last 2 weeks went, and my confidence is now sky high again, and I feel ready to crush the $2/$4 games. I also think it shows how important it is to not let pride get in the way, and thinking you’re too good to play at any given limit. Plus, its profit banked, versus what could have been another 2 weeks playing bad and losing in the higher games. It’s basically the difference between being a winning player, and a breakeven/losing player. Lets hope $2/$4 serves me well over the next few weeks.

In other news, I played in some FTOPS event on Full Tilt Poker with like a gazillion runners, I lasted about 5 hours and busted in the midfield AQ<99 blind versus blind. Again, I don’t know how you tournament players do it…

There is a poker million qualifier on Full Tilt on Sunday, im planning on shipping that and busting James in the final. That would be some serious run good. Hahaha.
